Today's Horse Tips

NAP - TOT O'WHISKEY - 1.40 HEXHAM - Thought good enough to contest the Grade 1 Cheltenham and Punchestown bumpers, after three earlier, impressive successes in that sphere last season. Won well over C&D on first try over obstacles, and is a horse with great potential, who can ultimately go on to better things, hopefully taking today's contest in the process. NB - JERED - 12.35 FAIRYHOUSE - Ran really well in what looks one of the hottest novice races of the season in Ireland so far, two starts back, before comfortably landing the odds last time out. Up against a couple of useful sorts today, but should be good enough again.

NAP - RICH KID - 1.20 WOLVERHAMPTON - Comes into today's contest on the back of a win last time out, beating a subsequent winner in the process. This is a very weak race, with none of its rivals seemingly in any sort of form. Should win. NB - KID CHARLEMAGNE - 1.10 FOLKESTONE - Very impressive in second of two bumper wins, looking like a horse to follow this season. Has an absence to overcome, and this is its first try over obstacles, but appears to be the horse with most potential in today's field, and connections will be disappointed if this one doesn't go close today.

NAP - LINSALATA - 6.45 DUNDALK - Been mixing it with some of the best of his generation, finishing not too far behind in a Group 3 latest. This represents a drop in class, and whislt he's drawn wide and has not raced on this surface before, he looks the best horse by some way to me and should win this. NB - QUADDICK LAKE - 3.05 CHELTENHAM - Was in the process of bustling up Snap Tie last time out over C&D, and now meets that rival again on 7lb better terms. Travelled really well that day and looked a horse to follow. Held in high regard by its trainer, who has nominated this horse as his best chance of a winner at the Open meeting, and looks like one to be on today.

NAP - FIVE TWO - 1.40 TAUNTON - Coming over from Tony Martin's powerful Irish stable for this lowly selling hurdle. Sharp track, and firm ground should be ideal for this reasonable flat performer (rated in the mid 70s), and Tony Dobbin's only ride of the day, for a stable he has a decent percentage strike rate on. Would hope this one's good enough today.

NB - JUSTIFIED - 1.55 CLONMEL - Back in trip after a decent second to the talented Taranis over 3 miles. Good ground suits, and has Ruby Walsh on board again today, (the two teamed up for a facile win two starts back over today's trip). Comes out well on the ratings, and has everything seemingly in its favour today. A worthy favourite.

NAP - SPEAGLE - 2.40 WOLVERHAMPTON - Has won at the track, is well berthed in stall 3, and is in reasonable form. Dropped into a seller today and is miles clear on the ratings, so must be the one to beat.

NB - HOWDIGO - 6.20 KEMPTON - Finshed second to a decent sort latest, pulling clear of the remainder of the field, and definitely has the ability to win a maiden, such at today's. Trip, surface and draw all fine, and unless there is something useful amongst the unraced ones, then should win this.

Today's Horse Tips

NAP - TWIST BOOKIE - 4.00 KEMPTON - Hosed in, head in chest, last two races, on decent ground, under todays jockey latest. Penalty to contend with today, but is the one horse in the race that is bang in form, and who looks on the upgrade, and must be followed again today.

NB - ABSTINENCE - 3.50 SEDGEFIELD - Major disappointment 31 days ago, when spoiling its chance both by bolting on the way to post, and by pulling miles too hard during the race, when odds on favourite for a similar contest. Had looked mightily impressive first time up, and i'm prepared to give this one another chance today, in the hope it can be restrained and settle better, as the ability is undoubtedly there.

Today's Horse Tips

NAP - CAIPIROSKA - 2.25 CARLISLE - Improving performer over the larger obstacles this term (winning off 105 latest). Reverts to hurdles today off a much lower mark. Travels strongly in its races, so the drop in trip shouldn't be a concern, and should be good enough to win today.

NB - MARSELLAIS - 2.20 LIMERICK - Series of good placed efforts lately, against some decent performers. Attitude may be a little suspect in the finish, but doubtful if this one will have to come off the bridle against this lot today. Should finally get its head in front.
